How to Play

Queens is a 2D top-down puzzle game about putting the queens in the best positions using only the mouse. To make an X mark on the board, move the cursor over to the tile and then click the Left Mouse Button. To place a crown, click it again, and to remove everything from the tile, click it a third time. The goal is to make sure one queen occupies every colored area. Once all the areas have a queen that isn't feuding with each other, you'll succeed and be able to move on to the next puzzle.

You can jump right into the game where you're instantly presented with the puzzle. Each puzzle takes place on a square board of tiles. Tiles are grouped by color and can have varying arrangements to take up different portions of the board. You need to place a queen in each of the colored areas. However, queens need their space and won't share their lines of sight. Queens can't be in the same row or the same column, they also can't be diagonally adjacent to each other. The X marks can be used to mark tiles where queens can't be placed, but once all the queens are happily placed, you'll succeed. The timer at the top will be the main indicator of your performance.

Tips and Tricks

The timer may push you to move quickly and make quick placements, but you can take your time to plan things out. When queens clash, you'll get a clear indicator (similar to someone saying "Check") and you can correct your mistake. Just mind your rows and columns and you'll likely avoid diagonal conflicts too.

About Queens

Queens are powerful both in reality and in games to the point where if you're ever on the bad side of a queen, you may as well give up, but not if you're playing Queens. This is a situation where the queens are relying on you to put them in their ideal positions and only you can figure it out. You have the chance to handle their crowns and place them in spots where the queens will be able to rule over their kingdoms. They need to be able to look out over their lands and not meet the gaze of other queens, otherwise some conflicts may arise.

Game Details

Sometimes the most powerful and complex beings can enjoy some simple games that involve moving and placement. This game is all about that since you're just trying to move queens to the best spots. The queens won't move or plant themselves without your guidance, which, in a sense, gives you a lot of power. Still, you don't want to keep these women waiting and you're going to need to show your brain in action. The queens can only be placed in so many spots and it's on you to figure them out. If you do, you may be able to keep your head for a bit longer.
